Hello,  I am glad to share with you my personal experience with ChlorFree.
 
My wife and I used ChlorFree in both our spa and pool for two years. During the 2 years that I used ChlorFree the product worked exactly according to their claims. Our chlorine levels in both pool and spa were dramatically reduced. I maintain our pools myself during this time. Our overall pool maintenance was also likewise reduced, as was our cost of maintenance. In my experience, the cost savings from the lowered chlorine consumption by itself was enough to more than pay for the ChlorFree product. I was very pleased with the lowered cost and lowered maintenance factors.  The effect of ChlorFree on our water was, to say the least, remarkable. The water felt physically softer on the skin, and took on an attractive slightly blue cast (I suppose was from the copper in the ChlorFree formula). The water tasted better (I tested that)! I found that I could open my eyes under water fairly comfortably and did not experience that kind of irritation that chlorine caused. The water smelled fresh. There was no dry hair, or chlorine smell in clothes or hair after swimming.
 
When we reached the one-year mark of use during our first trial of ChlorFree. At the time I was using ChlorFree, the capsules were intended for use for one-year. I suppose it is the case now. After the anniversary passed, I waited to see what would happen to the expired capsules, leaving them in place, and not replacing them. No water was added to the pool at this time. After about 3 weeks a slight trace of algae began to appear. I replaced the ChlorFree to rectify the ionization after treating the pool for algae.  I stopped using ChlorFree when my wife and I sold our house and moved. I no longer have a pool or spa. I did not hesitate to show the new owners the ChlorFree capsules that were in place when they bought our home. I explain about my experience and recommended that they continue using ChlorFree.
 
My experience with ChlorFree was excellent, as was my experience dealing with the folks at ChlorFree. I emailed them with many questions before I decided to make my first purchase. Always I had a great feeling dealing with them. Responses were prompt, courteous, and clear. All my dealings with ChlorFree have been good. I still maintain occasional contact with them from time to time.  I suppose it is worth mentioning that I am not employed by ChlorFree. I do not have any relatives that work for them, and I receive no compensation for responding to inquiries that are occasionally forwarded to me. I merely describe my experience to prospective customers, and this for no other reason than that I myself believe in the ChlorFree products.

Hi Chad, In a nutshell, I bought a house with a pool, and had a spa installed on the patio.  I hated the idea of chlorine. I tried Baquacil. Baquacil ended up being more costly and high-maintenance than chlorine -- then I found out the the Baquacil chemicals were also carcinogenic.  I hesitated dealing with ChlorFree and if I sent money and it was a scam, I would have no recourse.   Finally, after examining all of the options I could find about how to keep my pool and spa in order, it seemed as though there was only one avenue left -- I really had to trust ChlorFree and take the plunge.  Dealing with ChlorFree was a great experience. I first shipment had some damage in transit, and they replaced the damaged parts (I sent photos of the shipment to show the condition it arrived in to verify the damage).  Following very carefully the specific directions from ChlorFree about how to use their products (how to start using their products initially, what to do after a heavy rain adds water to your pool, etc.) I found that I could very significantly reduce my chlorine use, lose the chlorine smell, the dried out hair, the burning eyes, etc. The water smelled great, tasted great, and felt wonderful to the skin. My wife loved the feel of the water. Once we had the pool "ionized," it took on a beautiful light blue color.  In summary, the first year we used ChlorFree products we gained an almost maintenance-free pool. Since I was taking care of the pool, that was a big point for me. We also reduced our chemicals bill enough to not only pay for the ChlorFree, but actually saved some money above and beyond the cost of the ChlorFree. The lowered maintenance factor applied to the spa as well as the pool. I checked the chems regularly, and kept an eye on both, but they became much more stable and predictable -- as well as more enjoyable -- once I started using ChlorFree.   I can recommend them without hesitation. ATLANTA (CNN) -- A byproduct of chlorination in drinking water has been linked to cancer in rats, leading the government to investigate adverse effects of water disinfectants.  A chemical byproduct called MX develops from organic compounds in the chlorinated drinking water, and Finnish researchers found that rats exposed to high levels of MX got several types of cancer.  "The new study is showing that yet another one of the common byproducts of using chlorine in our drinking water appears to be linked to cancer," said Erik Olson of the National Resources Defense Council.  The researchers report their findings in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, to be published Wednesday.  "Although these findings cannot be extrapolated to humans, MX should be studied as a candidate risk factor" in the consumption of chlorinated drinking water, the study says. ..
